Toolbar
This bar allows you to control game features such as technologies and economics, as well as ending the game turn by telling it to generate 1, 10 or 100 turns. However, the current technological and economic models are not those which we are currently planning to use. (So they aren't explained in detail, just leave them on autopilot.) Selecting Halt will stop the game and the end of the current turn, while selecting Auto AI will give the AI complete control of your civilization and the buttons to the right of the menu allow easier creation of different types of Task Forces. Land creates an entirely land-based TF, C creates a combined force of land and sea, ~A~ creates the same as C but is amphibious (able to go to sea if there enough boats to carry the land units - One boat carries two land units), and Navy creates an entirely naval TF, the create the Task Forces for the units which are available in the selected square.
Messages
The window displays the readout of the processed turn (details of battles, economic changes etc.), as well as providing help messages, such as notifying the player when he/she had no units left to move and when there are movement restrictions.
Detailed Map
This is the main window where most of the play happens. The default setting is the military view, but that can be changed to show other types of information, such as economic statistics. The default setting shows military units for the different nations, lighter coloured squares belong to cultures (see Cultures), and darker squares belong to civilizations (see Civilizations).

Under the "map style" menu item on any map, select "CHANGE TILESET" to see the new tileset Paul C is working on. Comments Requested.

Panned Out Window
This is another map window that is zoomed out to give an idea of nearby landmasses and civilizations, the coloured circles shows where civilizations/cultures are. The map goes from Europe to Southeast Asia at the moment, but only the European area is occupied by nations.
Task Forces/Units in Square
This window indicates what units are in the square that is currently selected, individual units are shown on their own, while task forces are group together within a border.
