What's New? In short, Demo 4 features tiled map graphics, unit graphics, partial implementation of the new Military Model, and an improved instruction manual. There's more, but you'll have to play it to find out! |

This version of the game is a
demo of design concepts. It is not the completed version but despite
having bugs, it is quite playable. The design of the game is likely to change
for later versions, but we are currently testing out ideas to see if
they work and whether we should continue to improve them, or if we
should replace them with something else. If you have any comments on
Clash of Civilizations, then please post a message on
the
Clash Forum at Apolyton.
This Demo is for Windows. There are possibilities for most other
OSs, but our development effort is not currently focused on that issue. The Demo
v4
download instructions are listed below. If you have already run Demo v3
or v2,
use Instruction #1. If this is your first demo, go to Instruction #2.
For information on downloading a copy of the Instruction Manual, please
refer to Instruction #3. 1. Click on the hyperlink below
(Download Demo v4 Now!) and when prompted, select "Run this
program from its current location". a. Create a directory called ClashDemo on C:\ b. Copy the Clash_D4.jar file from your desktop into the new ClashDemo directory. c. Download this batch file and add it to the new ClashDemo directory. d. Run the batch file (double-click the file named "run.bat") e. If it works, great. If not, please send Mark Everson the error message from the DOS window. Download Instruction #2 - For those who have NOT run demo v3 or v2 1. Go to
http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/jre/download-windows.html,
go halfway down the page to "Download the JavaTM 2 Runtime
Environment Version 1.2.2" and get it. (It is called the "JRE
file"
below) Its a 6MB
self-extracting exe. 4. Follow Download
Instructions #1.
1. Use of the Demo 4
Instruction manual is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
You may either view it on-line (there is a
link
in the "Documentation Team" section above) or else you can
download an executable file which will install it on your system (in the
Web Index on the left of your screen there's an
Instructions
link in the Downloads section). |
